Hi, do you need a preamp to plug an electric guitar and record some audio parts ? Can you apply effects to the guitar. Thx

Guitars with passive pickups will require a preamp, those with active pickups will not. The Kross' effects can be applied to the guitar. The Audio In button needs to be lit, and the audio quick settings can be accessed by holding down the EXIT button and pressing the AUDIO In button. Use a Program or Combi as the place to route, create and adjust the effects.

This video illustrates the Kross effects being used on a guitar, but it doesn't go into any detail about setting up, apart from superimposing the effects used on the video:

Just for the record, many multi-effects pedals with amp simulations in them will do a fine job for little money. For me, the Zoom G3n is a go-to.
