Hello,

I am trying to a record a video of myself playing with the iPhone and route the USB audio output of the Kronos to the mobile itself so the recorded video includes the direct sound from the instrument.

Connection is done through the lightning USB Camera Kit and the app I'm using to record the video is Roland's Camera 4X.

It mostly works as expected but there are some audible cracks in the audio track on the recorded video. It's not terrible (maybe 1 for each 15 seconds) but it's clearly noticiable.

Has anyone achieved something like this, maybe with other recording app?
Can the cracks be due to buffer overruns because the Kronos is sending 48khz audio and the iPhone recording at 44khz?

The only alternative is to use the sequencer to record the piece, bounce to a WAV file and use iMovie to put the audio track on the video.

I bought an iRig Stream specifically for this purpose, and it works great!

You just need a cable that can go from RCA to 1/4”, but otherwise it does a very nice job. There is an associated free app that lets you record video or audio, but I’ve also been able to get it to connect to GarageBand for multitrack recording line level output from the Kronos.

Very handy!
