This had me stumped for some time and I have found a solution but I thought it may be worth documenting.

I had selected the Wavestate's init patch and restricted the sample lane to loop only the first step so that I play only the sine wave. The trouble was I could hear a beating, not a pure sustained sine wave. Where was that beating coming from? I spent ages exploring and racking my brain ... it must be modulation ... lots more menu diving here ... I even thought it may be my monitoring so some experiments there, cable pulling etcetera, but no, that was not the problem.

Okay, time to go back to the manual and search for some key words ... a bit of reading ... then a light bulb moment ... the beating could be the product of voice unison and some analog emulation ... "Yes! That's it!". Back to the menus ... no, it wasn't! Bummer!

Then it dawned on me this is a wave sequencer and the beating may be a result of the wave looping so I played with nearly all the timing parameters for A1 ... still no luck. (This was because I had failed to experiment with one crucial parameter.)

I then went through some of the other timing lane presets until I found one that did actually produce a clean sustained sine wave. I then compared this with the init patch and there it was, the one parameter I had neglected to play with.

Can you guess which it was?

Yep, RobustAmerican, that was it, 'Timing Lane Step: Set Type to "Gate"'.

But now I feel a bit rubbish, you say, "has come up many, many times" ... I'm doubting my search skills. Do you have any links please?

Whoa! Easy there...You're going to break something. Smile

No links but I've seen it more than a few times. Ok, maybe not "many, many times." It took me a few days just to figure out how to save a new performance properly. The towel was nearly thrown in on a few occasions...Glad I didn't though!

Just a suggestion regarding how to avoid duplicate (pentuplicate) postings. If an error message comes up whilst posting like:

"Could not connect to smtp host : 0 : php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: No such host is known.

DEBUG MODE

Line : 112"

The chances are the posting has been accepted by the system. It is possible to delete your posts, one by one, if your post is the last one. You have to be quick, because if someone else has posted after your last, only the moderators can then delete the duplicates.

Yes, that's what happened. I actually gave up, thinking I had not posted at all.
There was no sign of any new post in the index.

Could the mod delete those duplicates please?
