After sitting for five years my disks drive wouldn’t work. I replaced the drive belt but it still will not read disk. Will a depleted battery cause this issue. The keyboard works okay other than this issue.

After replacing belt on disk drive the drive still did not work. When I replaced the drive, everything worked. There must be some correlation between the two.

Sometimes, the drives just physically give out and stop working.

Did you clean the drive heads? Sometimes, that will fix the issues as well. Other than the belt(s) probably needing to be replaced, cleaning the read heads could help solve the issues. If neither of those work, then the drive could have just given up the ghost after all of this time Smile

I am glad that your synth is fully working again.

Grace,
Harry
