I'm trying to upload Wav files to the keyboard in media mode via usb. When the audio files appear, it says play using "sampling start", which I do. Unfortunately, the track only plays a brief brief snippet 20 seconds or so, and the error message appears (Sampling from HDD Buffer overrun error). Does anyone know what this is/how to get around it? I'd be very happy to hear the entire wav file through Triton and edit it in Edit Wav.
Also, an additional error I'm encountering is in attempting to load certain files in media mode with the error code "Illegal SMF". i know this is standard midi file, but I don't know why what I saved previously has to correspond to that format, and why for years I never experienced this.
Thanks for any help here.

I get the same error if I try to record a wave file to USB flash drive by sampling from a sequence. However, it works when I write to Compact Flash (CF) using a CF card. I then use MEDIA>Utility>Copy to copy the wave file to USB (which can take about 5 minutes for a 40 MB wave file). Clunky, but it works. _________________ bpoodoo

Hi bpoodoo,
Sorry didn't get your full name. I wanted to see if you had any expertise with another Korg matter I'm encountering, not involving the Triton extreme this time. I did e-mail them today, here it is:
It's an issue I have experienced for a while now, connecting a d1200 digital recording studio device to my laptop. I am trying to equip this with ProTools, so that I can record instrument tracks. Have you done this?
Both devices--the Korg digital studio and laptop--are in working order, so it's strange why no success. I have the prompt for Install KorG USB-Midi device, but when I press it, it says Error: No device is plugged in, whilst my unit is clearly connected and powered on. In another words I'm not sure if the unit is compatible with my Asus laptop, although I suspect it is. Korg has certain drivers that are used for this kind of thing, but the driver installation doesn't seem to work, no matter what I do! Also the cable I use to connect d1200 to laptop seems fine, standard USB PC Cable Cord For KORG D888 1200.
If you can let me know anything of value, I'd greatly appreciate your help, and hope you are well of course during the pandemic.
Sincerely,
John F. _________________ John Franco Schirripa |

I'm afraid I don't have any experience with this setup or with the D1200.
From what I just read of the D1200 mixer/recorder at https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/korg-d1200 MIDI allows for automation of D1200 mixer settings via an external sequencer. If you want to access the D1200 hard drive contents from your laptop, try this: "once the D1200 had been put into USB mode, the PC automatically identified it, with the D1200's USB partition appearing as another disk drive on the PC." _________________ bpoodoo
