I recently purchased a Kontrol Studio and need it to NOT do that weird rain animation thing after a couple minutes of inactivity. I need to be able to immediately see which buttons are on and which are off even after many minutes of inactivity.

I'd understand the animation as a little snazzy demo when the controller is not being used, but when locked into a DAW, why would I ever want it to do that animation?

I've tried various things, including turning "Lighting" to external from internal through the Kontrol Editor, which did nothing. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn this stupid forced feature off, which may mean I will need to return the device.

If anybody knows how to turn this off it would be great.

I'm on windows and using Ableton 9, not that it would matter.

Yes, this is actually quite annoying.
