New app FA MIDI published for Android and iOS

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abex.FAMIDI
App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/ru/app/fa-midi/id1527555917

The app is Drum Pattern Player and Midi Events Monitor and midi Controller for Kawai MP7SE. It supports USB-MIDI and Bluetooth LE MIDI. And it supports rotation of the gadget (Portrait or Landscape orientation).

DRUMS player provides accompaniment for your guitar, piano or synthesizer. There are 16 styles with about 800 high-quality midi drums patterns to choose from. Drums patterns can be played directly on your gadget by soft synthesizer or by sending midi events to connected hardware synthesizer.

There is a difference between iOS and Android versions of the app:
iOS version provides internal synthesizer with build-in high quality stereo sound bank.
Android version is just midi controller. However, if you which to hear drum sounds directly from your phone or tablet, it is possible by downloading from Google Play and installing the free and small app Fluidsynth Midi Synthesizer. You don’t need to open Fluidsynth. It will be opened by FA MIDI automatically and will work as background service providing cheap GM sound. Also, it is possible to add to Fluidsynth better free sound banks (.sf2), which could be downloaded, for example, from MuseScore site. Open Fluidsynth, go to page Settings, switch off internal sound bank and select from your storage better bank. Then start FA MIDI and play with better sound.

EVENTS is for monitoring incoming midi events from connected hardware synthesizers.
The event monitor decodes and reports any type of midi events except of “Timing Clock” and “Active Sensing” and Meta events (like Lyrics, Markers, etc.). The list of events could be saved to log file. System Exclusive events are reported without decoding. You can see raw events in Hex if check box is selected.

TIPS
When FA MIDI app is connected to hardware synthesizer via USB-MIDI or BLE-MIDI
then it plays drum patterns by sending midi events to standard Channel 9.

Kits marked GM are midi patches (MSB, LSB, ProgramChange), which are supported by any synth, so when you select such Kit you are changing GM patch (sound) on Channel 9 inside your hardware synth.

Volume control of the app is midi control (CC#7) so it will affect loudness of Channel 9.

You can record played drum pattern as midi events to your hardware synth (if it has sequencer). But don't forget to set Tempo on synthesizer same as BPM of the app. And may be some quantization will be required after recording.
