Not exactly a Kronos topic, but Lyle Mays did use Korg equipment at times. He was too big of a figure in music to not mention his passing.

Yes, indeed. The Pat Metheny will never be the same.

RIP Lyle! Crying or Very sad

Influential without saying. Also assisted in some of the Korg stock sounds we have all heard and possibly used throughout the years. RIP

I am deeply saddened with the loss of Lyle Mays. I first saw the Pat Metheny Group in a small club in the late 70’s. I was totally blown away. I have been an avid fan of Lyle’s creative sound and melodies. He’s by far my favorite of all key players. I do play keys, but I’m first a guitar player and probably one of Pat’s greatest fans of his story telling melodies.

I have to share this video I stumbled upon on YouTube. It brought tears to my eyes as this guy most certainly has Lyle’s spirit in his writing and within him. His tribute to Lyle is unreal! I need to look up more on this amazing player/writer. I love his addition of Lyle motifs in his song (Closer to Home). His Prophet sounds nail Lyle’s. It’s unreal. RIP Lyle
