|
|
I have a drawbar organ set for 'Whiter Shade of Pale' in the Upper 1 slot of a style. Upper 2 and 3 are muted, and Lower is set to a User organ.
Now if I drill down into the Upper 1 drawbar organ - the display which shows drawbar sliders and so on - the rotary switch is greyed out and inactive, and similarly the toggle switch for rotary speed is inactive.
I also have the Footswitch in Global set to Rotary Speed and this works fine in switching between fast/slow rotary, and triggers both the Upper 1 and the Lower organs together.
Given that I have a footswitch controlling rotary my question is not critical, but why can't I get an active Rotary switch displayed for the drawbar organ in the touchscreen? [I get an active rotary switch on lots of other songbook items that use a drawbar organs]. _________________ Korg Pa4X (OS NEXT 3.1.0)

Thanks Pete for your offer,
I am using the Factory/Ballad/Orchestral Ballad 2, and the Songbook entry is a PaX Magic item which uses one of their Organ sounds for the Lower voice. I decided to do a simple test and swapped this out for a Factory Piano, and it doesn't make any difference to the Rotary Switch being greyed out.
I think maybe the Songbook entry itself has degraded along the line (or it was always like this and I never noticed before). I will rebuild the entry from scratch (for example, if I load the Factory/Ballad/Orchestral Ballad 2 style after powering on the keyboard, and set Upper 1 to the Factory Drawbar organ the Rotary Switch is lit), so it is not the style causing the issue.
I will play around with rebuilding the Songbook Entry from scratch, and report back rather than wasting your time at this stage.
Thanks,

I think this is the reason & solution:-
Check the Insert FX for UPPER 1 and you'll find they are "OFF"
Switch them on and all will be fine but you may have to manipulate other Insert FX
STYLE PLAY mode
Press "Menu" button
Select "Mixer/Tuner"
Select "Insert FX" tab
Make sure UPPER 1 is "ON"
Cheers

I had a similar issue. Then I had you could turn Rotary on/off but not change Fast/Slow.
While Pete's answer is important I think there is more to it. Underneath ON is MOD which opens up a lot more settings.
I always seem to get it to work but giving a simple answer is impossible for me. I've inserted into Upper 2 straight away after and it works.
For sure first you need to follow Pete's answer.
Just put DWB in Upper 2 with a Jimmy Organ in Upper 1. Neither working this is where you do what Pete suggests and then the on/off works but not fast/slow. To get that to work you have to put MOD on but there is a long list but you need to use either MOD: Rotary Speaker or MOD:Rotary SpeakerOD. Not sure what the difference is.

Just to make it more confusing I have DWB set which is all working.
When you look at Insert FX it is all off?
