Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to make programs velocity sensitive on the Kronos 2, looking at Prog INT-E 025 Low Manual/Jazz. Comp2 V2, an organ sound, I can't seem to find a way to make it respond with any type of velocity sensitivity no matter how soft or hard I hit the keys. Anyone know how I can add some sensitivity to these sounds.
I had a look in the manual but nothing seems to work.
Thanks,
Anthony. |

That particular Program uses the Kronos CX-3 engine, which models the CX-3 tonewheel organ. Organs such as this were not velocity sensitive so, in that sense, the CX-3 engine is faithful. Organ players tend to use expression pedals to swell the volume. However, it is possible to add a compression/limiter effect, and use Velocity as a modulation source, but it will need a bit of tweaking to keep the timbre close to the original.
The other route is via the EXi 1 / Amp/VC/Rotary SP tab. The Main Output section allows Velocity to be selected as an AMS (Alternate Modulation Source). Set Output Level to 0, and Intensity to +127 and see if that is the desired effect.

Hi Voip,
Thanks for your reply. I didn't realise the Kronos was so authentic to the origianl sounds. Anyway I tried the second suggestion you made and that works just fine. Many thanks for your help! |
