Yes I will go slowly step by step and take your all your advise, I really am a piano payer, but I love sounds of the Korg and I want to learn I do realize it is going to take some time. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Also pretty cool stuff the guys from " Jethro Tull "
were in my" Litchfield Piano Works" piano store in Litchfield CT if anyone is a Tull fan. we have become great friends too.

Please check out my site if you want.

I can not thank everyone enough, My Korg is now 13 hours old

I was a little bummed it did not come with a damper (sustain ) pedal . Ill buy the nice Korg pedal today from Sweetwater sound.

Hey Joe, you have a good approach. There is no short cut on getting a handle on Kronos basics

A new owner has to learn Disk/file Management, Navigation, the controls, the basics/reasons of the " Modes". and Global mode.

Korg has very good videos on this material. This basic knowledge is the foundation to the enjoying your "House of Kronos ".

Its not easy being patient. I think a fair approach is to spend 50% of the time on basics and 50% on playing the Programs. In Program mode. In particular, the SGX-2 AP's are really nice.

PostPosted: Mon May 04, 2020 8:57 pm    Post subject: Quick Layer Im a confused Reply with quote

Hi Hey Thanks for getting back to me. I see when I am in > "Quick Layer" < I can use the drum track from what Program Sound I have in front of me of the two sounds to be Layered, at the bottom it say's Drum Track

I see in the screen Main button , I thought hitting that would bring me to all the drum patterns but does not do anything.

So in my Layer I have Piano and Strings I did not want the drum track associated either of those two sounds.

I thought for sure if I HIT MAIN button where it says drum track, it would let me see other drum patterns. Now I am thinking I might have to save the Piano and Strings then add drum track somehow , I have been watching videos all day on the great kronus but all video dance around this exact issue, the videos show everything but what I am asking. I hope I made sense.

you need to stress the Drum Track[DT] Button, that is right next to your Vector Joy stick

When that DT is pushed, it lights up

press any key and the DT pattern starts

Go to 5:00 for more on DT

I love Kronos drums. I highly recommend you carefully watch the KORG
video instruction

You also can Google this forum to get at your specific questions.

Thats the way to get the foundation on Kronos basics.

Make sure you don't get distracted by more advanced topics.

Nail down the basics.

Little by little is the norm with Kronos. There is lots of material out there, but much of it assumes you already know the basics, have 1 year experience with Kronos. I would avoid intermediate topics like SEQ, sampling, Karma- save that stuff for later.

My expression is one has to learn to crawl before they stumble with Kronos.

Get good at Program mode, Navigation, controls, and certain features in Global.
Mastering DT is doable in your basic study.

You will save yourself lots of time and headaches if you apply focus to those 5 areas.

Your learning sources should include the Korg Kronos tutorials.
And googling this forum for specific " how does this work " stuff.

BTW, I am a 9 year owner.
