|
|
Hi to all,
I've been using the VA synth Novation Supernova II for years (besides Korg Krome), which recently retired. I bought a Kronos II 61 and started programming (I use almost exclusively the AL module, sometimes the HD, I'm not familiar with the MS-20 and the Polysix is probably not necessary for me). I'm not hiding that I'm working on Pink Floyd sounds, so I tried offered the Endless Anthology sound bank, but there are really few usable sounds.
Now my problem is the lead sound from The Dogs by Pink Floyd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QA30qkRYy8 (from 10:05 to 12:15).
I will pay for the production of this sound as for the whole bank. But please, it's not about making an approximate basis for a similar sound (I've made dozens of them for different synthesizers). It must be a true copy, with all the nuances and ability to modulate in real time probably at least two LFOs (or LFO's speed?), distortion in sound (most audible at 10:22-10:23 - that's most important to me), correct time portamento, probably hard sync, cut off, maybe also resonance etc. Kronos has great possibilities of modulation in real time (two joysticks, ribbon, knobs), so perhaps it is possible... but my skills are obviously weak. Is there anyone who would spend some time on it? I'll pay for $ 100, for example.
Thanks for your help |

what I hear is not that difficult to replicate, but the resonance that it seems its being played manually, it has some distortion too, but i cant tell if its some kind of pedal or because it was passed through an amplifier. Looks like it was a minimoog of the sorts, because of the character of the sound, you might have better luck with a VST emulation, Arturia's is very spot on. _________________ My Band |

Please consider writing "The idiots guide to the kronos."
In normal English, not engineer talk.

Actually... I was working with someone for a while about this very thing. Stuff came to a halt and I want sure how to publish a book anyway. That said it's something I'm extremely interested in. If anyone knows the 'for dummies' folks, I'd love to work with them and make a simpler, easy to approach version. The manual is actually great, but it assumes you know a LOT about the synth already. I'm quite happy with the parameter guide, but not everyone is as versed as I or others may be.
Anyway, I would LOVE to write a 'Kronos Made Easy' book. I have a formal background in technical education, so with the right people, this is possible.
I'm willing at least. _________________ Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S

Ok, what about doing it in PDF format , we could have places like copy cop print and bind it ourselves if its in the correct format for them.
Some people already do that with Korgs official PDF "book".
The benefit is you're freed up from entanglements with printshops and storing boxes of books that may or may not move. People could DL their copy.
Zero outlay for inventory.
I suspect no-one has done it because its a bit monumental of a task.
I have the Korg x5D dummy book but thats no kronos. _________________ if they start to push your buttons...

Thanks to all,
currently the sound preparation is running, we weren't quite successful in using the AL module, but Dan (Stesco) is trying to prepare the starting material on the right analog of MS-20, then we go back to Kronos. Although it may not seem so at first glance, it is a very specific complex sound... |
