Several STR-1 Programs could be created such that there is one to model each guitar string, and then put these into a Combi and zone them, so that different parts of the keyboard "excite" different strings.

Yes voip, its a possibility.

But, just going on reading the STR-1 chapter today, I've found, page 299, all the parameters on the subsection called "Strings Track". There, we can define each string tune, among other parameters.
We can even define each string as an AMS source. (To be honnest, I haven't yet understand what would be the purpose.)
