|

Hi there.
I'm getting quite pro efficient at using my voice via a mic connected to an ALTO mixer, into the Kaoss pad.
I can make up to 4 concurrent loops on the Kaoss pad, resampling 2-3 loops onto the 4th track to add more "layers".
As you can tell, i'm not great with the terminology.
I understand the Koass pad also has a 13 second limit for recordings.
I'd like to find a piece of equipment that passes the following cirteria:
- Would work well with my Kaoss pad
- Would allow me to "offload" samples from the Kaoss pad to the new equipment
- Would keep the tempo and "loop" of the Kaoss pad.
- Would not mean that I need to use a computer, I don't want to use one, unless it's to simply record the final output.
- Be able to record at least 7 minutes of song time
- It doesn't need to have any long term storage as ultimatly I would record the track on my laptop via a USB sound card I already have.
I basically make beats with my voice and also sample things off youtube etc. I already do it with the Kaoss pad but need more "layers" and more than 13 seconds.
Thanks! |

Hi Sante
Record 7 minutes?
Why not use your computer / soundcard for that?
If so the piece of equipment I'd recommend is another kp3.
Works perfect together. 8 loops instead of 4 - and two fx stacked together is really nice too. Tempo locked tight if all samples are recorded at the same tempo (ie resample any old ,different tempo samples). |

The reason I suggest another kp3 is because I had a nightmare trying to sync kaoss pad 3s sample loops to other gear via midi clock. It just wouldn't do it and I gave up in the end.
But two kp3s lock super tight together, no midi clock needed. |
