Just saw this on Twitter
https://twitter.com/KorgUSA/status/1218727108907651072?s=19
I replied asking if this is an upgrade or just a cosmetic change.

So, same 9 year old Kronos. Heart sinks with disappointment.
This is a clear indication KORG are not even close to releasing a new flagship. |

I saw a video from Synth Antology or something going through the booth of Korg's - if it was just a new color as I recall.
And they had a click bait there would be something new on Opsix,´which it didn't. Last minute they just mentioned it without even squezing any info other than prototypes from Korg representative.
It's going to be a great year for Korg for sure. They are just checking demand for Opsix probably. _________________ MIDI gear: Sequential REV2.16, Prologue-8, Hammond XK-3C, Kawai MP7SE piano, Nord Lead 2X, Roland D-05 |

Totally fine with that. Happy to see them build new digital instruments. I look forward to trying it, and I will be buying a Wavestate. I'm just very disappointed that 9 years later the KRONOS is still getting released in different colours.
I'm actually very tempted to drop in a Zynthian raspberry Pi4 inside my KRONOS at this point just to inject some “Modern” life into it.

The new color chassis thing is like Korg printing money. They know the cosmetics and limited supply will sell out, close to MSRP. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

If they do bring something new out hopefully it’s a hybrid workstation with plenty of knobs and sliders like the arp 2600, along with large touch screen and souped up internals. Currently my iWatch is more powerful than Kronos RAM. THe watch has 16 GBs of RAM!

And with that money they are buying time to finish the successor.
Probably next year.
Considering what KORG is capable of the competition better not rest on their laurels. |

Or Korg could toss us a treat this month, and do some kind of Kronos upgrade plus a new sample lib. They did this last year. Jan 2019. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

So everybody's done with learning, knowing and using in a deep, meaningful and regular way:
- Jazz performance on the Kronos pianos and drawbar organ?
- MS20Ex, PolySixEx, AL-1, STR-1, MOD-7
- Karma
- Waves equencing and Vector Synthesis
- Dynamic MIDI
- AMS
- 14 effects processors with over a hundred effects alforithms
...
you're done with all those - right? And need extra things because you've exhausted all that can be done with them - right? |

That’s ironic coming from you given the vast amount of synths in your ever growing collection.
