Could you share more information about what you tried and what happened?

I don't own any of these devices, but judging from the manuals...

The SQ1 does not have a MIDI input. You could use SQ1 as the master clock and slave the other 2 devices to it. Connect the MIDI output of SQ1 to the MIDI input of ESX. Connect MIDI Thru of ESX to MIDI input of RmkII. Make sure ESX and RmkII have their clock modes set to EXT. You may want to set a MIDI filter so that they ignore note data, cc, or program change.

Alternatively, you may be able to use one of the audio outputs of ESX to send an analog sync pulse to SQ1 sync input. You could sample the sync pulse output from SQ1, or maybe use a tight hi-hat.

Or, you could slave SQ1 to a computer via USB MIDI, and have the computer slaved to either ESX or RmkII. Note that SQ1 only sends MIDI note data when it is the clock master.

Smile Thank you Rusell much much appreciated.

So, I have the rmk2 as master controlling the esx and an Alesis micron, via midi.
Recently acquired the Korg Ms20mini and the Sq1 which I intended to have them synced with the other 3 devices via midi exactly as you said thru the midi out jack from the sq1 into every others midi's in's and out's from the other devices including having the Alesis Micron as master.Pretty simple operation that turn out to be discouraging since global mode/midi on the sq1 is quite limited.

Tried as well the sequencer mode selector (global mode from the sq1) to sync the step sequencer resolution that was possibly not matching mine, result 0 too.

Having done this without success and complete frustration (thanks for the Midi Imp, had read it thoroughly already) I started then trying then sync in/out jack from the sq1 on each of the other devices in's and out's still without avail.
Confused Confused what it does instead it gets blocked when I jack it from sync input on play mode.

And honestly my brain has come now to a melting point of frustration, I dont consider myself an expert but I can manage my way around and this "basic pairing operation " its turning out to be quite painful. So yeah thats it, basically all you suggest its been done Question

If using MIDI, SQ1 MUST be the master in a DAWless setup.
