|

Hi,
I'm new to this sequencer and got it off eBay with no power supply so bought a new one.
I used to have an RM1X, but I'm completely unfamiliar with this thing.
When I turn it on, the screen scrolls 'ELECTRIBE' indefinitely. I don't have a memory card in it at the minute, so not sure if that's all it is.
Does it need an OS on the memory card?
I've searched around and can't find anything relating to it, aside from a problem when it does this a couple of times and then freezes.
I've tried pressing buttons etc., but it just sits like that until you turn it off.
Thanks! |

Hi
This is not OK. I'm not sure that you will be able to fix it.
ES-1 doesn't require the card for operation. It can work without card, the card is only used for samples and firmware updates.
In normal condition when you start the device it displays "Electribe" 4-5-6 times approximately, and then shows 001 on the display, 001- is the number of pattern. All buttons work at this point and you can hear sounds.
If it freezes, then something is wrong.
The only thing I can advice is to try to reset/update the firmware, thus to ressurect the device.
I CAN'T GUARANTEE THAT THIS WILL WORK!!!!! I'VE WARNED YOU.
But at the same time I guess that this is your only option, if it fails, then you will not be able to make it work again((
I'm not responsible for it
Here you can find the firmwares. https://cloud.mail.ru/public/4US2/4jPCi3DU6
One thing I would recommend is to format your smartmedia in ES-1 (if your friends have a working device) prior to updating the firmware. This might prevent errors that sometimes happen because of the PC.
I've did this once on my ES-1, I have used a firmware for MK2 v.1.00
It worked for me
Good luck |
