My current MAIN keyboard is a Korg TR88. I am an amateur player but I don't like arranger keyboards, I like workstations.

The current lineup is, the flagship Kronos, for people made of bucks who are probably mostly gigging pros.

Then there's the almost cancelled Krome, not updated since 2012.

There's the basically cancelled and no longer for sale King Korg, which has all the sound design features for virtual analog but not the full set of pcm digital sound design tools of Triton or Kronos.

There's the Kross which isn't really a workstation, really a performance keyboard for people who don't want speakers on their board, or otherwise don't like arranger boards.

Then there's the arranger keyboard line which lacks the distinctive feature set of workstations.

It seems to me as someone who loves deep sound design and making my own patches, there's nothing in the Korg lineup that makes me happy, with a high quality weighted keyboard action I enjoy, at a good price.

I think my next board will be a roland. Korg is tired and sadly not innovative. Keep issuing new colors on your $4000 flagship workstation Korg, people will surely buy that. Don't bother building a modern 2018 workstation keyboard in the $1500 to $2000 range.

Oh and software engineering at Korg is in a sad state. If my mac and my pc boot faster, and then my DAW and VSTs are booted and playable before the freakin flagship workstation can turn on and make a sound, we're not making progress.

My TR88 is turned on and playing its dated PCM sounds in 3 seconds. People wait several minutes nowadays for modern Korg boards to boot up? I am a home user and I wouldn't be bringing my stage show to a halt for 3 minutes embarassing me and my band and getting me booted off the gig, and yet even as a home user such a wait is unacceptable to me. Get it together korg. The FA 08 boots in eight seconds.
