|
|
So, finally getting around to building combis for the bands set list.
90% are fairly straight fwd.
I do have some more complex synth songs that require some work though. After I locate 2-3 or more programs I like, I usually copy 1 of them to the new combi keeping the effects etc... Thats great, but when I need to have another program with very unique sound and effect and add that by just selecting it on say channel 2, I lose the effects and a lot of the sound. I know I can go and re-assign effects to and try get it back to what it sounds like as stand alone program, but that is a lot of work, and I can never get it to sound 100%.
Is there a way to quickly add 3-4 programs to a combi and keep the original individual program sound with the individual effects and all?
Thanks! |

there is a 'copy from program' wizard in the utility menu that lets you chose whether to copy FX, etc. I'd usually choose 'all IFX used'. This way you can squeeze a couple sounds and their FX chains into a combi usually before you start to run out.
Of course the MFX and TFX if used you still need to compromise, but a lot of factory programs are very light on their use of those. MFX will usually hold your reverb or delay, so it is worth thinking about which one from which program you use. _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, RADIAS-R, Volca Bass, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, R3, Kaossilator Pro +, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II,

I think this topic discusses the limits you have to work with:

FX are a big deal for me. Where it becomes 'work ' within the limits is to not allow over writing of IFX locations.
What makes it a little easier, is when I have used my 2 MFX's and close to running out of IFX, I see where I can 'share ' IFX 's with Programs.
In addition, I find I have to move the FX around in slots 1-12. I prefer
to pre-plan this while in Program mode:
IFX tab
Routing --upper right corner menus
swap insert FX
This might be difficult to follow- basically I am juggling IFX around to maximize
placement in slots 1-12.
So its not quick to figure out when you are on top of the 'limits'.
Ideally you know what you need before you build a complex combi ( i do all this in SEQ mode) . Easier said than done, I have found _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8
