Can Favorites be transferred from Kronos to Kronos? I'm talking about the FAVORITES checkbox on the programs.

I have tried transferring program banks from a SAVE ALL, but that did not transfer the FAVORITES checkbox settings. Are the FAVORITES stored somewhere else? Thanks

Hi there,

There are some freeware which are very helpful to assist you for these kind of things. Simply Google them to find the download links.

- Kronos editor from Korg
- PCG Tools
- TidyKronos

I'm not 100% sure that the following hypothesis is correct, but I just tested it and to me it appears to be true.

My impression is that the Favorite-checkbox setting is part of the Program data. And with all changes in Program data, it must first be written to internal memory with Write Program (menu in the upper right corner in Program mode) before it is really stored in the Kronos. Only if it is stored in internal memory first, it will be saved in the PCG file (in Disk mode) when you do a Save All or Save PCG..

So before you do a Save All or Save PCG, you must first do a Write Program to make sure that the Favorite setting for that program will be part of the saved PCG file. As a consequence, it is my impression that you must do a Write Program for every individual program that you change the Favorite checkbox setting for (unfortunately...). Obviously the same holds for Combinations.

I just tested this with a single program, and this seems to be true. Hope this helps.

From Parameter guide, page 5:

Quote:

"Favorite [Off, On]
....
Important: you must write the Program in order to save
changes to the Favorite status."

So my hypothesis mentioned above is correct.
Please check that you indeed performed a Write Program (for *all* programs for which you changed the Favorite status) before doing a Save All/PCG.
Same is true for combinations.
When you reload the saved PCG (e.g. in another Kronos) the Favorite status of these programs and combinations should then be retained.
Hope this helps.
