|
|
So, somehow when disconnecting the USB cable running from the device port on back of keyboard to my PC, the internal jack snapped leaving half of it in the keyboard and half in the cable housing. I can still connect using this cable, but I'm afraid it's only a mater of time until it stops functioning.
Has anyone else been dumb enough to run into this problem and how hard is it to repair or replace.
I called Guitar Parts which keeps a huge inventory of Korg parts, but the tech said that in order to replace that jack requires superior board soldering skills and equipment.
Any thoughts on how to proceed?
Thank

Guitar parts is correct. I would call Sweetwater for repair or somebody you trust to do the work. Most of the keyboard repair guys don't know the first thing about soldering. I worked in the aerospace business and I had to take special classes in soldering and get certified every year. There is a lot more to it than one would think. Sweetwater are the only guys I know who have a clue and I live in California. i definitely would not call Guitar Center. _________________ Pa4x, Oasys 76, K2000, PC3K7, Montage 8, Pa5x |
