Try this page. The translation isn't perfect but it gives you the idea anyway.

I'm sitting on the fence with this one. I have a version one Kronos and I really like the keyboard's feel but I also think I'd like this new one's feel too.

My guess is, that it maybe using the same Fatar keybed that my Hammond SK1-88 has ie. light touch full piano size keybed with no aftertouch.

Which BTW plays very well, as long as you are not a "True Piano Action" kind of person who plays Jazz or Classical.

I personally am not in the Jazz or classical realm, so playing organ, synth and piano sounds on this keybed was not an issue for me.

Cheers
Paul

Just be released rackmount model Kronos brain. Each for himself would have decided what he wants keyboard! (Of course, to be able to connect an external monitor, and mouse to the settings).

Problem with that is the extra re-design costs. A rack version isn't just stapling what's in a keys version into a rack- it has to fit, and not overheat. That means re-designing a whole lot of the custom PCBs, and that creates costs.

This way, they CAN just nail stuff from the parts into a new chassis and send it on its way.

Well I'm definitely happy to hear about the promised "calm atmosphere" (cause I play a lot of New Age) and always appreciate applause, so the promise of a "different cheer on stage" sounds almost irresistible. I'm definitely in the cue for the next generation of Kronos, however not this particular one. The total weight reduction is great and will be welcomed by anyone, and some will be happy about the light keys weight across all 88, but the current 88 full weighted key feel works perfectly for me and is in line with what I expect, now and for the future. I wish Korg good luck with it and commend them for trying to appeal to different needs and desires with regard to their great flagship.

Looking forward to the OS update if they do indeed release it to older KRONOS owners. I'll be greatly appreciative of any new features. KORG has supported us for a very long time now like no other brand. Also looking forward to playing the LS.

I've played piano for so long that I NEED the 88 weighted keys on one of my keyboards. So I'll stick with my hernia inducing Kronos 88.

However, for those who didn't grow up with pianos in the house, this will probably be a good thing. Different strokes for different folks.

Is this LS a fully blown Kronos with a lighter keybed action and no aftertouch - are they the only differences?
Just wondered if anyone had found any specs - thanks
I am useless on weighted keys (not much better on semi-weighted Wink ) but this could be my very first 88-key synth.....

I'm with you karmathanever. I am wondering what the cost will be. It should be substantially less than the K288.

My wild guess is $2200-$2400

Hope that is too high a guess.

I think $1999 would be on target.

I don't know why a semi-weighted 88 key would be substantially less than a 61 key semi-weighted. I understand there is no aftertouch. Everything else about it is the same as the Kronos 2. I don't see in the product marketing anything about "fantastic price point" or similar.

This store in Japan has it for the same price as the 73 weighted, which makes some sense. Release date in Japan Dec 24.

Busch,

My supposition on the price was just fantasy based upon wishful thinking. Smile Smile

Prices in Japan is much more lower than in Europe and USA. I converted prices in euro for some models:

1. Korg Kronos 88LS 2097 Euro
2. Korg Kronos 2 88 2247 Euro
3. Korg Kronos 2 73 2097 Euro
3. Korg Kronos 2 61 1873 Euro

If you want dollar prices 1 Euro = 1.04 Dollar.
