I can't see it being the last Workstation. Have you heard that somewhere?
Korg is at present covering more and more with their portfolio of keyboards. I mean, did anybody see the Minilogue coming?
So i can't see Korg, dropping their Workstation evolution. They are the best at it. _________________ https://m.youtube.com/user/1967runningman |

nope, didn't hear about this anywhere, i just though korg might follow up with yamaha, korg did almost through all the possible features and their sound library in the kronos so i wonder what would be offered even better other than better samples and digital converters - For me, montage is noticeably sounds better than kronos |

Dont believe what Yamaha tells you....
Currently many motif owners are wandering to Korg, as they want a workstation and not a performance synth (Montage)
The only reason why Yamaha didnt make a new workstation is because they cant compete with Korg where it comes to raw power, they still hold on to their self created previous century processors...
With the evolution and the pricedrops of PC processors and high end touchscreens, Korg is the only one that can create a workstation to compete with daws in every aspect, yet still feel like a dedicated hardware instrument...
With this knowledge, it seems only naturall for Korg to create a follow up for the Kronos that pushed Yamaha out of the workstation market. |

I don't know if they use the forum to survey future enhancements, etc.
Doesn't hurt to try and make your promise. Just don't hold your breath _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

zeus had predecessors, briefly.
Cronus learned from Gaia and Uranus that he was destined to be overcome by his own sons, just as he had overthrown his father. As a result, although he sired the gods Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Hades and Poseidon by Rhea, he devoured them all as soon as they were born to prevent the prophecy. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

If the do another I would love to see it keyless so I could easily integrate it into a Seaboard, grand or rise or joint board. I love the seaboard surface and interface and having a masterpiece like a Kronos built with it n mind would be great. |

The idea of the Kronos was a game changer and I don't think the others have caught up. So far, all upgrades and new software have been made available to all Kronos users back to the original. It's getting to the point where additional improvements will require more processing power and memory and may not work on older models. So I think they'll draw the line and say, moving forward, it's a new platform, but stick to the basic architecture. What they call it, I don't know. I think what we would see is better sampling and file management, larger sample libraries, and hopefully a more powerful sequencer. Probably improvements to CX3, maybe more editing tools like pitch correction and time shift. A lot of these are processor intensive. Finally, maybe follow Roland's lead on "plug outs" and offer the ability to buy complete new modeling engines. _________________

I would hope if I don't get my dream of a Kronos with Seaboard interface that they would at least implement Poly aftertouch and keep release velocity and the rest of the keyed nuances. |

The Seaboard works fine with the Kronos as it is. Why wait? Integrating a Seaboard Rise type playing surface into a Kronos would make for an instrument that may be too bulky for many.

I dunno man. I been playing keyboards my entire life. I'm 58. I totally love my Kronos, for studio, for live. It does everything I ever hoped a rig would do and more. If and when Korg comes out with a new workstation, I'm buying it. I'm totally sold... |

acoustic/electric guitars, brass/saxes/woodwinds, strings/ensembles, and the fm sounds to me better than mood7 - maybe it's because of the digital
converters... |
