Hi Fellas,
Just got off KVR to post my question. I figured I'd come back home to you guys for best results. I just bought a Macbook Pro. It has all the requirements I need to run Omni 2.
I just have one question. After I download Omni 2, what software do I need to access it and play it (DAW, Kontak)? I don't even know if my question sounds dumb. Whatever you can suggest, I'd appreciate
thanks Frank |

Hi,
You will need something capable of hosting VSTs as Omnisphere, sadly, does not have a standalone mode.
Although I have a mac (yay) I don't use it for music, so can't advise specifically on the best host from personal experience, but the following is general advice.
A lot of it will depend on whether or not you wish to use it for studio or live use, as a DAW is not optimised for live use, and equally a live host is not optimised for multi-track recording in the way that a DAW is. Horses for courses.
For studio work, ask for an opinion on which DAW is best, tends to get pretty emotive due to peoples' preferences/opinions on which is best. Ask two people, and you will probably get three opinions!
Take a look at the following for live hosting advice on OS X
http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2330070/Best_host_for_VST_s_on_a_mac
I personally for live hosting use Cantabile on PC, which is fantastic, and I believe a Mac version is the works, but not sure of the ETA. _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer

I have a mac book pro and if you are not invested into a DAW its hard to beat Logic proX, dollar for dollar it is a great value and Logic offers it all. |
