I want to connect the triton rack to my DAW, Logic X.

I have a MOTU 828 mk2 interface. I understand I will need to connect the audio out of the triton to an input on the 828. However, my midi keyboard connects to my laptop via USB only.

In order to play sounds from the triton through my midi keyboard will I still need to connect a midi cable from the triton to my soundcards midi in?

Sorry for the basic question but want to get this set up asap and need I know if I will need to buy a midi cable. Thanks in advance.

Thanks joe.

Will it be 'Midi out' on the triton to the 'midi in'on the 828, or the other way round?

To control the Triton Rack from any source, it has to be the MIDI In on the Triton Rack, be it keyboard, computer, sequencer, what-have-you.

The MIDI Out of the controlling device sends codes to the MIDI In of the Triton Rack, which it converts to the musical information that the Triton Rack then "plays."
