I went and saw the live concert movie, "Live in Hyde Park" last night at my local movie theater. Too bad is was a "one night only" event. My wife and myself are both big Who fans. I was surprised but pleased to see one of the Keyboard players using a Kronos. It looked like he was using it for both songs, "Baba O'Reilly" and "Won't Get Fooled Again".

The footage doesn't actually show him playing the parts except from a distance and in passing. Of course most of the shots are of Roger Daltry and Pete Townsend but if I had to guess, I'd say the keyboard player was doing them on his Kronos.
I'd just love to know if he was and how he manged to absolutely nail the sounds and parts.

Great video! Can't wait to buy a copy once it gets released here in Canada.
AKA " the Colonies!

The last time I saw them, the keyboard player was merely holding a single key which triggered a sample of the original backing track. I have a keyboard magazine someplace where the keyboard player at the time explained how he tried to get the patches correct but just couldn't so they used the original tapes. They've done it that way since Who's Next hit shelves.

Everyone seems to be using the Kronos now. The age of the little red keyboards seems to be coming to an end. I noticed the band leader for Strictly Come Dancing (Dancing with the Stars) now has replaced his Kurzweil with a Kronos and then the guest singer had one too last night... Two of many...

I might be showing my ignorance here, but I don't know of any red Kruzweils. Nords, maybe.
