Still wondering if we will ever see the synth engines of the MOSS board, or the Radias or maybe just the great filters and other parts of the king korg engine as new engines for the Kronos or its predecessor..
An improved version of the MSs brass engine could work miracles for the Kronos Brass sounds..
Or might we see them as iMOSS and iRADIAS ipad apps. Sometimes it Seems the programmers at Korg are spending their time on Ipad stuff instead of new Kronos stuff.. |

I think just some additional filter models as part of AL-1 would be great. _________________

Moss has a strong following.
about 10 yrs ago, there were several hundred posts for an improved MOSS
I recall that author and license items stopped development. That was separate from Korg programmers. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Thats really to bad, personally i think the MOSS engine is one of the best engines ever developed by/for Korg. There was a bright future for it.. Never understood why they stopped further development.
I once owned a Z1, its still one of my alltime favourites when it comes to sound diversity.. |

I know. I had Moss in my extreme and it was great. from what I call, it was not authored by Korg. It may have originated from a talented individual connected with a Stanford technology . From what I recall 10 yrs ago there was no chance of evolving it. Someone might have better recollection. or go to the Moss forum and google _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

If I remember correctly, the main developer passed away. I kept my Triton mainly because of the MOSS and I kept my RADIAS because in a few cases, it still blows away the KRONOS. I love that thing.

IICR Korg obtained the license for MOSS technology from Yamaha who obtained the license from some university tech dept. I could be wrong, however. Be that as it may, I certainly miss my EXB-MOSS installed on a fully loaded red Karma which I loaned but never got back from one of my sons. MOSS had a character even with its limitations that I have never been able to reproduce. Here's one example of a non-Karmafied combi I developed way back. https://soundcloud.com/ej2-sc/wishing-stone-for-karma-triton
I also have the RADIAS-R mounted on my M3-73 keybed. Pity it won't boot up past a "Drum: Checksum error"
It's a shame that new technology cannot (won't) inherit/import oldies but goodies from the past. _________________ Cheers,

Seems thats where Korg programmers are spending the bulk of their time
Which might proove there is more money in ipad apps then in selling upgraded software for a Kronos..
But then with all those ipad apps, it cant be that hard to someday add them to a Kronos Replacement Synth workstation |
