Hi guys, I have a question that surely you will be able to help me resolve it. One person I know change my ms 20 mini and my microbrute Arturia and my korg monotribe for his roland sh 201. I should change, you say? Excuse my English, and thank you very much

Hi,

Mmh, your question is not that clear... Confused

Do you mean that he gets your 3 synthesizers and in exchange you get his Roland SH201?
If that is the case, I would NOT embark on that deal. You better keep your 3 synths for yourself.

Why are you interested in exchanging?

Bye.

Definitely not worth trading these 3 synths (all analog) for the 201, which is VA (virtual analog). Although I've never used the 201, I'm sure you can get more out of these 3 synths you currently own compared with that one synth. Like OpAmp said, keep your 3 synths.

Also, with any gear, its really about what you make of it, and how you intend to use it. But in this case it wouldn't be worth it, as those 3 synths you have are worth more than one sh201.

Hi thanks for answering. What happens is that in my country (Argentina) The roland sh 201 has the same price as my 3 synthesizers, because it depends on the dealer. I was looking at reviews on roland sh 201 and I found interezante, although many people say q their sound is not very good, as if it is the microkorg or korg r3 or korg MicroX, but interezante of roland sh 201 is the polyphony to 10 voice and the number of presets you have. The sound is good. I have a microkorg and love, I have a bass VOLCA and VOLCA beats and those three synthesizers also thought to change. But I'm not sure. The sound of korg ms 20 mini is powerful. The microbrute Arturia synth is very good but lacks patches. Not to do I'll wait and think about it. In my country the roland sh 201 is priced at $ 17,000 AR, the mini korg ms 20 $ 7,800, the microbrute Arturia $ 5,500 and monotribe $ 2,600. What catches my attention is the amount of roland sh 201 sold used. It is seen that the roland bored its users. No you say? They help me think? thanks friends

Hi,

I did not elaborate why I would NOT do the exchange. But it is the same reason as roblabs indicate.

The analog stuff is more fun, more knobs to turn, more hands on...
Ok they do not store patches, they don't have polyphony, but again, it depends what you're looking after and how you feel about that, rather then their relative price tags I would say...

Have fun.

The Roland is a VA synth with a thin sound only made better by the effects. The Roland gaia is only slightly better imo. Keep the real analoge synths as they have far more mileage. If you were to swap those synths I would only do it for something like a Access virus C, Novation Supernova 2 or a Nord lead 1,2,2x,3 etc.

Good decision. I was also going to mention the fact that the guy would rather have your 3 synths than his own SH-201... that alone should make you wonder!

Sounds like a rip off to me. Roland SH201 is pretty crappy entry level VA synth not worth considering.
