I was searching through and found that new kronos is cheaper than old kronos x. How is it possible? _________________ Life's music - www.myoozic.com |

There's probably nothing different internally... over the past few years I suspect components have become cheaper, and Korg are pricing it accordingly.
Looks like the Kronos 2 (61) is about £200 cheaper on launch, than my Kronos was in 2011.
Having gone through all the specs, I can't find any difference other than a case re-vamp and OS V3 - No evidence of a capacitive touch screen either, although I wouldn't be surprised if it was (if it is, I wonder if it's compatible with Kronos 1/X) _________________ Synth DIY Projects |

If you look at the videos of the new Kronos the screen looks exactly the same to me, so no flash new screen. |

FWIW, i believe the new kronos is only cheaper because the price has to go up on the old kronos now that theres a limited supply.
For example, the newest and most affordable iPad is $500. The first generation ipad, cause who the heck is buying those now, is over $600.

we could ask Korg to raise the price. have no problem being demanding
or donate the difference to poor children needing a synthesizer. lots of good ideas _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Please don't ask them to raise the price..
I think setting cheaper price is aiming market wider because it is good time before Yamaha release something.
Or..just currency issue.
Japanese Yen has been weaken against US dollar awfully since first Kronos release.
..It is good chance to visit Japan next spring. |

I have a store on Amazon. You can't go by the new prices asked by those newbie sellers. They are merely fishing. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

The first rule of marketing is to understand your market and set your price high.
When the market starts to get flooded or competitive you start to reduce your price.
