Can you actually change patterns on the Volca Bass live- or do you need to stop it and load a new pattern. As I continued to salivate I was having a look at the online manual- I know that you can save eight patterns- but can you actually play them one after the other. It seems to me that you can do this with the beats.. but not with the bass- I couldn't bring myself to look at the Keys.
I am quite happy if I am wrong here to put this down to fatigue and anxiety...... just tell me I'm wrong... and it's all been a bad dream....... please!

You can change patterns in real time - ie it doesnt wait for the start of the next bar like the EMX/ESX series.

I can see how this may be useful-- but surely having a new pattern play at the end of your current one is something we could have expected?

Yes, I would actually prefer the electribe-like functionality. It's effectively quantisation. Quantisation in live looping is useful.

The sequence is still running at the same step though, so you can change to another pattern for the last beat of the bar for a fill variation etc.

Sounds interesting, although it would be nice to be able to select how it changes patterns.

Yeah this feature to select at what resolution a beat transitions is on the Dave Smith Tempest - but not fair to compare directly with Volca Beats being they are such different price points.
