I'm still thinking of supplying the programmed external instruments which includes the automation knobs and parameters for download on my site with the tutorial.
|
That would be very helpful! |

the ableton and Cubase Kronos tutorial will show basically the same:
- how to setup the audio connection routings in Cubase and Ableton to your Kronos
- how to create an external instrument that automates the most important parameters
- how to create a wav file of your composition where the kronos output is merged in realtime (Based on midi) with your other vst's or samples. So that you don't have to record your kronos to separate audio tracks.
- how to get the external instrument (kronos) sample accurate with your VST's (latency compensation)

Will you also cover recording and editing of Karma produced data? |

if I recall correctly (it was a long time ago), I have seen three live screencasts on the korgusa live feed channel. but I can only find this one which is about 1,5 hour length and is a really good one to watch |
I seem to vaguely recall others, but only find the one, searching both within Youtube and using Google.

Ed-f which version of logic? I am on 8 and will be going to X shortly will the vid still be of use, enough similarities for carry over?
Qui your tutorials are great is there a way to download them? I am in places where steaming g just doesn't always work and it would be cool if I could watch them off line. Korg should have a link from the Kronos page to your site! Do you have another site other then youtube for us to look at? |

This was several months ago using Logic 9. It should all be good for 8 and from my understanding should hold up for X also. I haven't switched yet but it seems these types of connections etc. have not really changed. |

i've watched it ed_f, that's a great tutorial for the people that use logic. If you want i could add a link on my site to your video with your name attached to it so that more people will see it. Then we have the main three DAW's covered on one site.

I wasn't planning to but it's a simple addon to the tutorial so i will do it, thanks for the suggestion. I will include a demo where i use KARMA on a VST instrument and show how to edit that in your project. There are some tricks you need to know to use KARMA with other hardware or VST synths, so then that's covered too.

I guess I'm not totally clear on what your approach will be until I see it, but for me MIDI editing (and subsequent audio rendering) is very important. Will your approach allow for this?
Thanks so much! As always your efforts are greatly appreciated!

i think it does, here's what i had in mind for the KARMA midi editing and audio rendering part:
- Show how to setup the channels in cubase so that you only will record the KARMA note output
- Change a couple of the KARMA generated notes in the cubase editor
- Render the result to an audio wav file.
I think the 'hard' part for people is that cubase also records the notes that you play (the chords) on top of the KARMA generated notes. There is a simple trick to avoid that and i will also show that in the tutorial.
Is this enough for you to get you started in cubase? |
