I just got my monotron delay...does anyone else have a constant hiss int heirs? even when not playing and no signal, there is a constant hiss which is very noticeable at any level...extremely disappointing.

The regular monotron is a bit noisy too...i had to swap between 3 models to get one that wasn't so bad. I believe this stems from the fact that its an unbalanced signal.

Same here... There seems to be some kind of interaction between the filter and the delay effect.

With the filter up between say 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock, it introduces enough hiss into the signal that the delay captures it. If the feedback control of the delay is set above 10 o'clock, it just regenerates to the point that it's more hiss than synth. Anything above that, it just howls. Makes the filter totally unusable anywhere other than wide open.

It's quite disappointing. I know there's only so much you can ask for in a $50 pocket synth, and it's still a bad-ass piece of gear... But I'm surprised Korg would let these things out the door with this kind of bug.

I bought both the Delay and the Duo and both have hiss like leaky tires. A little better when you lower the volume about halfway but it's always present and I'm about ready to send them back for it and other reasons too. I had the original Monotron for a few days back in 2010 and it too had the hiss. It can be controlled somewhat but still kinda unacceptable. Even the KaOSCillator is more quiet than these. Saying all that they are still pretty unique units.

I have the original Monotron. I was hoping to use it to drive synth samples through the filter, but the hiss is so bad I don't really know if it's worth it. I still want to try and record it and eq the hell out of it, but I haven't tried it yet. I was also planning to get the delay for the same reason, but not sure now. Still amazing little toys though. With the hiss though, I'm afraid that's all they might be.

My Duo and Delay both have the hiss. I don't really care, they are fun little toys. And they kept me amused while I was sitting in the dark after hurricane Sandy Very Happy

There's no problem with the monotrons. They're noisy ! It's part of their charm. Trouble is that everyone has been spoiled with super clean digital technology.Present them with something more hands on & analogue and they think there's a problem.
The answer is simple....Make some dirty sounds! Laughing

thats all well and true, and in a certain sense i do agree that they add to the so called charm...but still...unacceptable for recording.
