Just curious guys, seems the editor is not a plugin as i tried to use is as a plugin in my native instruments maschine, it shows up ok but there are no sounds coming out of it so its obviously just an editor an no more designed to be used with the microstation, so next question, I do love some of the guitar sounds and a few other and i would really like to have these sounds accessible as wavs to use as i wish, roland has these sounds down in their own sound format, is it possible to convert these to wavs?

funny thing is i am also using the microstation as a midi keyboard plugged into the native instruments maschine and still nothing, its like they dangled the carrot and when you went to chomp on it they pulled it away, rather frustrating i have to say

It seems like you are a bit confused as to how the instrument operates.

The editor simply acts as a larger external screen for the synthesizer as an alternative to navigating through all those menus on the calculator sized screen. When you load the VST version of the editor into a DAW, it's only for the sake of being able to save and reload everything you've used the editor for within that DAW session file.

Also, having the microSTATION attached to your computer via USB or MIDI will not generate sound on the computer. In order to get the synth's audio into your DAW, you need to route the audio into the computer like you would any other real instrument.

As for converting the sounds to WAV files, the only way to do this is by directly sampling every individual sound. Even if someone found a way to hack into the synthesizer to access the ROM waveforms, they would just be the generic waveforms unprocessed by the synth engine.

With a program like Reaper you can sample the sounds as waves indeed. and then export them to where ever you choose.
