When you get to a gig, do you move your Kronos 88 by yourself or do you have help moving it from the case to stage and back? _________________

At most shows I don't have help.
I find it really awkward to pick up and put on a stand. It is not as bad as the Triton though atleast it is lighter.
If you're not careful with where you apply pressure you can actually dent that thin bar in front of the keys. This resulted in some sticky keys on mine, but loosening the screws and sliding the keybed back fixed the issue for me.
After reading though going to invest in a helicopter. _________________ Corey Mast

It is a bit awkward to pick up, but I move it by myself. Space permitted, I try to bring my case right up by my stand. |

The keyboard is around 50 lbs., but most cases that you'd feel reasonably secure transporting it in are 25-35 pounds, making for an unwieldy 80 lbs.! _________________ Keyboards: Kawai ES920 / Casio CT-X5000

I find it easier to move the gigs to in front of my Kronos instead. Makes setup and cabling a lot easier, too. _________________ ::: Korg Kronos 88 ::: Alesis Fusion 8HD ::: Kurzweil PC361 ::: Roland V-Synth ::: DSI Prophet 12 ::: DSI OB-6 ::: Korg Prophecy ::: Moog Micromoog ::: Yamaha CP-30 ::: Alesis Andromeda ::: Moog Sub37 ::: Sequential Prophet 600 ::: Korg MS2000BR ::: GSI Burn :::

Almost always move it myself. My case is heavy but has wheels and handles on both ends which really helps getting across bumps or steps. |

By the time, I've got it from the car, through the venue doors, and up on the stage, then back for the monitor, stand, XK3c, and MotionSound Rotary, I dont feel very musical anymore. _________________ Slim Estrada

I played drums in bands for 20+ years. So, I'm used to hauling lots of gear. Compared to my 110 pound drum hardware case, a 75 pound keyboard case is a nice change. |

I usually have a volunteer from the band present to help me load/unload my car and put it on the stand. It only takes 1 minute of my band's time to help me... The drummer needs much more help getting his part done! _________________ Old gig setup: Yamaha S90, Roland Fantom XR, Hammond XM-1, M-Audio Axiom 61

I can't afford a helicopter, but a forklift does the job quite nicely and is much cheaper too _________________ Check me out at PianoManChuck |

I also have mine dropped by helicopter, but I stopped using hot college girls, their wet tee-shirts being a hazard around the Kronos. I now call on the services of Angel roadies from Victoria's Secret. It's incredible to see how those hours spent in the gym have given them strength. Those girls can lift! _________________

Awesome replies!! Makes me reconsider how I move my K88 around
I asked this question because of concern for putting pressure in areas on the Kronos that shouldn't get it. Arms aren't quite long enough to grab it by both ends the way we do 61 key synths. I would think that the best way to move it, is to have someone on each end, lift it out of the case, place on stand. _________________

When I move it I hold it around the middle, with one hand on the front and the other on the back, grabbing it by both ends is quite difficult indeed. I don't think that holding it the way I do I am putting pressure where I shouldn't, almost all the pressure is on the bottom cover.
By the way Angel roadies would surely be a better option... |
