I'm trying to make room for a new PCG file which is set up to write to Program Bank UG. I have existing programs in that bank, so I copied them to an empty bank, UAA. I understand that I may have to tell any Combis which reference these programs to look for them in the new location, but how do I know which Combis reference Program Bank UG? Couldn't it be ANY Combi?

Am I making this harder than it has to be?

Thanks.

When you load a new bank, you can direct it to a new bank instead of its originally saved bank.

Also, I think this is where PCG Tools comes in handy.

Thank you, but when I browse to the PCG file and click the red INSTALL button, a screen pops up which gives me the option to either install or cancel. I don't see an option to change the destination, and I don't want to press install only to find that it overwrites my existing data.

Ahhh.. it's protected? You can't drill into it and audition patches?

Not sure what you mean by that.

Usually from the Disk screen, you can browse to the PCG and open it and see the banks in it. Then you can actually select a patch inside of it and play it without loading it into your Kronos.

The file I'm trying to load is actually a .exsins (not a PCG...my mistake), which may account for the inability to change destinations.

The instructions which come with the file say I will need to load the KSC and PCG after installing the .exsins. Maybe I have the option to change destinations at that time?

Not sure I want to chance it. I'd still like to clear the original destination bank first.

With PCG Tools you can make lists of programs being used in which combi, or which programs are used in which combi (also for set lists).

However, you can with PCG Tools also copy programs or move them while all references (from combis/set lists) are automatically fixed. Also when you move combis, all references from set lists are fixed.

You can install the exsins file. That just copies the sample data onto the local file system and then you can set it up for auto loading or whatever.

You are right that it is only the PCG that you have to worry about.
