Did anyone explore the idea of running a Wavedrum from some kind of battery pack? |

I've heard of people doing this on the Handsonic forum, but the current draw from the Handsonic 10/15 is less than the Wavedrum.
The Wavedrum power supply is rated for 1.7 amps at 9vdc. This implies that the current draw from the Wavedrum might be too much for a small rechargeable battery to have any reasonable play time. |

I've played for hours with headphones on one of those cheap-ass Duracell Powerpacks. _________________ Make. Write. Play drums |

Hi kaden, was this on the Wavedrum, not mini? Can you link to the exact device you used please??? I would love it if this works!
What happens when battery voltage runs down? Is there a risk of damaging the motherboard? |

I've been looking at external laptop batteries, some of them come with a 9v setting, but no reputable brands... I worry about brownouts when battery runs low and whether that would be bad. I'm no electronics man... Can anybody confidently say what the score is?
Thanks, looking forward to busking with the wd and a boombox! |

Thanks, i see... You were using that as a mains power source. That weighs 31.5 pounds....It would be cheaper and lighter to use a UPS for computers, no? |

It's what was available to me at the time and it worked. Follow your own path. _________________ Make. Write. Play drums |
