Does anyone know where the info is on which velocities trigger which layer?
Not in the manual that comes with this download. Just recently bought toontracks and wish I didn't because I'm really liking these kits and the fact they're part of the Kronos is an extra plus to me. The toontracks will just be sitting there now not getting used. |

I don't have any velocity layer info either.
But I have checked a lot of midi drum stuff with the Lawson library meanwhile, and it shows VERY vivid reactions to dynamic drum midi content.
This library just WORKS - IMO. _________________ Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5 |

You could go into GLOBAL->DRUM KIT and pull it up in there. Use ENTER + NOTE to get to each of the sounds.

what is the info on the virtual memory vs ram on the Ricky Lawson drum samples?.... how much ram us needed to load them?
if I've got exi data (preload) and user samples in ram I have about 408mb left....is that enough space?.....
just wondering. _________________ Please subscribe and follow me on Youtube and Facebook for information related audio technology.

I'm curious about what you guys think about the sound quality. Is it a step up to what is already in the Kronos? Also, has anyone been able to utilize a rhythm and insert a 2 or 4 measures and maybe a 1 meausre drum roll or fill?
Thanks, Denny C _________________ Kronos 2 61, Wavestation A/D, Yamaha Genos and others. |

Thanks for the reminder, Busch: I completely forgot that I have already edited drum kits in Global mode and should have known this.
Ricky's kit has 8 velocity layers in stereo (per Osc.). I can only call it state of the art after days of testing it. From my view the onboard factory sets completely pale in comparison. Maybe some of you need them for certain cases: I don't and would like to get them out of the preload.ksc.
I will have do read the manual to check how this is done: I would like to replace both preload sets by the one Lawson set.
@DennyC:
You can copy complete measures anytime to any place in the Kronos sequencer: so it should be no problem to do so with a drum fill measure. _________________ Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5 |

Samples sound nice. At some point, I'll upgrade the OS and give the demo a shot-see how they feel under the fingers...but, the stock ones are good enough for my songwriting demos. I know they don't want to hear this, but $200 is pricey for a few drum kits. I do like that they stuck up three sets of ambient MICS, though. First thing I will do with the demo is make a combi with all four sample sets of kit 1&4 (going by order of the audio clips). That way, you can actually bring in multiple ambience MICS at different amounts. I wonder if they got the phase OK for doing that... |

popman, I just noticed that the Lawson patches I use are no stereo patches, but have the dry setting on Osc1 and the ambience mic sound on Osc2, It is easy to mix both the way you want and then adjust overall loudness to the values needed.
Being able to get anything from dry to heavy ambience in any degree of mix you like, this sounds just great with this drum set! _________________ Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5 |
