Hi friends, i ve made a combi using a loop assigned to a program. It works well when i trig the loop, i keep it on turning over through the song, but when the songs end, how to stop the loop from going on ?

This is one of the annoying things about hardware samplers released today. There is no quick and easy method to stop a sample from playing once it is triggered. Kronos has this issue and so does Native Instrument's Maschine. The current like of Akai MPCs allow you to press the sequencer stop button a few times to stop samples from playing. They also have a "Mute/Stop of One-Shot samples" function. When this function is turned ON, when the sequencer is stopped, all samples are stopped as well. _________________ Tool box: Kronos 61, Fantom FA06, ASR-10, MPCX, MPC Live, and MPC 4000. |

Couldn't you just put it in a mute group together with a silent key?
The same way hihats or crashes are muted in keyboard drums. |

Or if you don't want to put it in drum kit, use the sample program in a combi and limit its polyphony to 1, with note preference to "last" (can this be done on Kronos? I think so?). Then hit any "empty" key in the program to stop the sample. Or just mute the program with the direct switch on the control surface.
On second thought, I don't see the problem at all, haha, I must be misunderstanding something? |

SanderXpander's (second) method is excellent, that's the way I am doing this too. _________________ Rick

Your welcome. Glad to help. Yes, it's a cool little trick.
Actually you can thank my friend Jack Hotop from Korg USA. He spent about an hour on the phone with me explaining how it's done. I took my notes and created that tutorial. Thanks again Jack! _________________ www.kidnepro.com

That sounds excellent, I'll have to try that when I finally get my Kronos! |
