What's the easiest way to deal with the lack of a real mod wheel? I just went to use LASS for the first time since replacing the Pc2x with a Kronos88...and if you've ever used it--it's entire dynamic response is based around playing the mod wheel. Joystick won't work.

Should be simple enough to just assign the "master" slider or something to transmit CC1, no? I'm going to keep looking in the manual...but, if someone knows where it is, shoot me a page number...or type if it's short and sweet.

you want it to be a "universal" thing... like for EVERY patch?

I know that on my m3, I used a slider assigned to cc01 on the specific patches that I needed it on. So I guess you could do the same thing. I am not sure about a set it and forget it type option where it will ALWAYS be that for every patch...

I'll check though.

Control Surface = External. Create the setup in Global mode.

You'll probably want to look at the EXTERNAL setups.

Go into GLOBAL and then MIDI->EXTERNAL 1

At the top of the page you'll see EXTERNAL MODE SETUP and it's set to 000. You can have up to 127 different setups. The idea is 000 might be for LASS, 001 for VSL, 002 for a soft synth, etc.

So here you can set the CC#s for all of the knobs, switches and faders including the master fader.

(I believe, when you'll all done you might have to WRITE GLOBAL SETTING from the drop down, but I'm not positive)

To use these go into any Program or Combi and press the EXT button in the CONTROL ASSIGN Area. Now the control panel can be used to send out to your external synth/device. If you press PLAY->CONTROL SURFACE you can change the SETUP # (top right part of the screen).

Perfect...the main slider works even better than the wheel at the far left anyway.

I wish that entire plastic panel could come off and we could substitute real pitch bend and mod wheels.

I really like the combination of the two into one.
