So I am about to ship off my triton ex... getting the kronos tomorrow morning.
I know the triton thick and through for the most part. Im not too familiar with the arpegiator, however i previously owned a karma and understand its original version for the most part.
Will my triton knowledge (and korg radias) transfer will for kronos?
Please people who have owned a triton leave input! _________________

Some of your Triton stuff will transfer. I'll leave that to people who know more than I do. Whether your genius will transfer...
On a more serious note, if you can stall shipping of the Triton, it couldn't hurt you to have a weekend of side-by-side. _________________ Motif XF8, Kronos-88 (ordered), V-Synth GT, DT-Extreme eDrums

The Triton was my first Korg, ever. If you really know it inside and out, then you will find many similarities - Disk organization (PCG, KSC, SNG), Sampling is near identical, so was Sequencing (with the exception of the larger horizontal screen on TRACK VIEW tab). The effects are similar (IFX/MFX), but you have more types and much better routing options in the new system.
AMS options shouldn't be a mystery, as the Triton uses them. If you had a MOSS card, then the new engines will be deep, but conceptually familiar. I was lucky - I had MOSS and bought a second Triton (the Extreme), which came with the free Legacy (MS-20, PolySix, Wavestation synths). When I finally got the OASYS, it was all familiar territory.
I did keep the Tritons for a while, while I had the OASYS, but I eventually sold them both. I miss some of the samples, which I had on a couple of soundcards, and on the Extreme, but Kronos comes with a lot of material (more than the OASYS), right out of the box. |

You'll be fine. Download some Trinity, M3 manuals and look at the screenshot of the GUI. They use mostly the same interface. _________________ Korg Kronos 61
