i think this is a really fun promotion from korg... but... do they really want to lose customers by encouraging them to endanger their own lives?
there's this one thing i can do... it's really impressive... but i can only do it once... _________________ Korg Kronos-61, 01/Wfd, SONAR Pro |

This isn't a Korg promotion.

Cool vid, Mike, as usual.
PD:
I hope no one will be offended if I state this:
Let me say that If someone over here would deserve a free Kronos, that is you dude, for what your DVD and tutorial stuff have meant and helped so much all the OASYS community.
Just my oppinion.
And hey, your vid worths your nomination for it, anyway. Good luck! _________________ Regards.

The irony is that you would probably be disqualified!
I started thinking of ideas (Robbers stealing a Kronos at gunpoint, playing "chicken" with a Mack truck, etc.) and saw this:
Quote: | Entries cannot contain sexually explicit material, lewdness, obscenity, violence, inappropriate language, depictions of bodily harm, damage to public property, or damage to other people’s property
|
The above statement pretty much wiped out my initial ideas.
My Disclosure: Fortunately, Primal Mike only had a case of heartburn. Rabies and fire breath were simulated.

No participation from abroad, so I can sit back calmly and enjoy the contest thinking about the following:
1. The question
"What would you do?" Maybe it's enough only to promise something, no need to actually perform stunts?
2. The "number of views" criteria
On the website in the ad they mention 5 criteria: "fun factor, entertainment value, creativity, originality and number of views". But the Official Rules text (bottom of page) contains only the first 4, the "number of views" is missing. Is it an accident or finally it doesn't make sense to share the videos?
3. The video content
So far I have found 7:
johnpmclaughlin - http://youtu.be/Ajq3nlF0nmo
robdanoize - http://youtu.be/-CnIoaQz2Vw
acharras - http://youtu.be/a0xkfbmGD2o
whitefalconbpd - http://youtu.be/a8SSu45Z0mc
whitefalconbpd - http://youtu.be/q5WILqdlBvw (not entered officially)
gretschplaya - http://youtu.be/eNaLeaT9Ysg
scoopicman - http://youtu.be/cg_rRKho_Ck
I guess all videos will get similar number of views from musicians (who know about Kronos). The big difference in views could come from non-musicians therefore the "musicianship" or any relation to music doesn't matter that much. If this is true then it's better to think about anything else as video content to entertain the viewers and judges - from a circus stunt to something funny or stupid, or in better case a brilliant thought that touches human hearts.
Please don't misunderstand me, I like and appreciate Mike, I like his contest video (the best so far!), I love humour, too. Still I - being a musician - wouldn't like to be introduced to the world by Korg this way. It's a good but somehow dangerous opportunity , don't forget, the ad says: "The winning video will appear on Korg's website and Social Network Pages."
(For example, there was a talented rock band in my country. They didn't succeed with their own songs and performances for some - non-musical - reason. Later they started playing funny parody songs about other artists. They did it well, they quickly became very successful, they had their tv-series etc. Everybody knows them here today. The only problem is: they are known as clowns. Even if they are normal guys and good musicians, probably nobody would accept anything serious from them anymore.)
So, I think instead of joking the better way is to make a serious video.
I'm very interested in the end result. _________________ AkosJanca.com | Facebook | YouTube | SoundCloud | FuturePlant || OASYS-demos | nanoROCK demo | Korg Band in the Garage demo | Kronos Demo 1 | Kronos Demo 2 |

Come on, US guys and girls. You can do better!
The vids submitted so far are boring, maybe except Mike Conway's video.
