This might be a stupid question but what are the differences between Prophecy and the MOSS board or can they even be compared? I read that Prophecy is based on Digital Multi Oscillator Synthesis System and I became very curious about this little machine.

the prophecy is monophonic, while the moss board has
6 voice polyphony, apart from that i think sound wise they both
have the same capabilities.

This is not entirely correct. Even though the sound-engine shares some similarities, they do have very different capabilities sound-wise too. Moss has more physical model algorithms, etc.

Think of the Solo as having a Korg Prophecy in your Trinity, or the Moss as a six-voice Korg Z1.

Something the Prophecy has that's missing in MOSS is waveshaping.

I own both a Proph and a MOSS board. There's a conversion of the Proph factory sounds available for the MOSS. When you play them side by side you find many of the MOSS emulations lack the edge/bite and depth of the original Proph sounds.

Kind regards.

really? thats interesting and disappointing at the same time as I assumed that free download thats available would just be like having a prophecy built into my extreme. Surely the Z1 factory free download is identical though?

Would you say it was still worth loading the prophecy set into the extreme though? (particularly if lack of free sound banks was a problem)

Hi
I just bought a prophecy on ebay and agree that it sounds better than a lot of the prophecy moss conversions. I've been reading about the sounds
on the phc11 and phc12 cards and they're sopposed to be pretty good but the cards are hard to find. Is there any way to find a sysex download of these sounds?

Thanks
JC
