Hi -

This set of sounds looks very intriguing:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ARABIAN-SOUNDS-FROM-THE-DESERT-korg-triton-exb-moss_W0QQitemZ230449510616QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item35a7dc78d8

However, the ebay page seeling seems a little too sparce and underwhelming and I'm apprehensive about purchasing them (they look ot be a software downloiad so I'm sure there's no shortage of sets available).

Does anyone know about these sound and how good they are?

Cheers,
Kevin.

Hello Kevin
I dont test this sound set,but i think it's the same sound set that (audiominds.net) sale.
you can see this web site and listen to the demos in the korg library.
I think the difference only in prices in audiominds this coast 200$.

Thanks Ahmed for the pointer - appreciated.

Actually - those sounds are pretty darn good!

Curious - $200 for the Trinity+MOSS but only $50 for Triton+MOSS. Note however that the seller has a "best offer" option too so looks like there is room to haggle!!

The $50 fee seems reasonably OK (still a little pricy) but there's no denying the pretty robust quality of the demos; and it appears there are quite a lot of sounds in the package. I think MOSS and Yamaha VL technology are exceedingly good at ethnic wind and string instrument, whether celtic, african, or east|west asian (when programmed well); and this sound set sounds quite nice indeed.

I contacted the seller on ebay to ask if they will load on the Korg Karma workstation with MOSS fitted and he indicated that they will.

I think I willl go for these sounds in a month or so when cash is a little more fluid (just bought quite a lot of synth upgrades already this month); so if and when I get them I'll let you know how they sound, but the demos are very good IMO and showcase MOSS pretty well.

Cheers,
Kevin.

Not necesarilly, people pay, my MOSS bank of 72 Sounds is 350$ and almost
3 years later still sells for the same price and that is my MOST sold item.
I refused to bring the price down only cuz noone ever bargained about it,
they just went, listened to demos and bought it...but it took me over a year
to create those 72 sounds...and i dont mean 5 min a day, sometimes days
would go by with one Sound only.
I dont know whats about the MOSS, SOLO, PROHPECY and CZ...Oriental.

They will go on any Triton with MOSS and also on KARMA with MOSS but there
will be difference in Sound from one to another Triton, deppending which one
it is, i dont know how may inserts KARMA has, its all down to it. They can also
go in a Trinity V3 if converted to the format, or vice versa.
