anybody have a hidden gem they wouldn't mind sharing?

I've decided to start doing some independent research of my own to figure out all this oscillator and filter business you guys keep talking about Laughing

. Would really like to get a good text book and dive into it all...and maybe even start making my own sounds one day!

I've just been back onto the site and my Virus Checker picks up nothing. Very strange - Eset [nod32] Business edition V3.0.669.0 Confused

What browser are you using? Firefox here...

My scanners didn't warn me of any tracking cookies or viruses. If people are still using IE for a browser, dump it, you'll wish you did so a long time ago.

Anyone try Google Chrome?

Hi Synthoid. IE has been suffering of late as it had a security fault that allowed in malicious code to web pages. It has been suggested that you use Firefox. It's the Browser of my choice as it's far more secure. You can get details of a patch to fix IE at Microsoft if you wish and it depends on the version you use. Help here:

I've read through a few books in the past couple of months that have really helped me.

Welsh's Synthesizer Cookbook

It's a great introduction book. Plus it has a large amount of actual "recipes" for synth sounds that you can use on nearly any analog-modeling synthesizer.

This one goes a little more in depth and is quite cheap for that amount of information inside. The only downside is that it uses examples on 6 or 7 different virtual synthesizers that cost hundreds of dollars to purchase.

awesome...thank you for all the replies!

First off that link for rapidshare worked great...you rock for that one. Very cool.

ok and I saw that Welsh's synth cookbook one before as well, and it looked pretty interesting...now for sure I am going to pick that one up.

What would you recommend for creating all these sounds on? I've mostly been tinkering around with .vst plugins like absynth and kontakt 3...and using Sonar as the...what would you call it..."main interface"....
