Hello

This is an issue I've been running into lately when recording and can't for the life of me figure it out. I am running Vista 64 and I have my PA800 connected to a MOTU micro lite directly on midi port 2 in/out. I also have a Roland SonicCell connected to midi port 3 in/out on the MOTU.

I typically disable "local on" on the PA800 so I can trigger the Roland SonicCell when I just want to hear the SonicCell. For the most part it works great but I keep running into an issue in Sonar 7 where all the note on's being sent from the PA800 work except for F5. When I play F5 it is silent in Sonar with no midi activity on the midi track yet I can see on the MOTU that the midi activity indicator clearly indicates it's receiving the note from the PA800. The other notes trigger and sound out just fine on the Sonar track. I think it might be a Sonar issue because when I trigger the SonicCell without Sonar the note triggers fine.

I'm just curious if anyone has ever encountered anything similar when triggering an external sound module from the PA800 or similar with their favorite sequencer.

thanks
Brian

Could Sonar use F5 as a remote control for an internal function?

I checked Key Bindings but I have none defined. I installed PG Powertracks demo and F5 works fine.

thanks for the reply.

I will try installing Sonar LE next.

thanks

I just installed Sonar LE that comes with my SonicCell and it does not have the problem. It must be some kind of configuration glitch with my Sonar 7 configuration. I will try reinstalling Sonar 7.

thanks for your help!

Sure enough, Sonar 7 was the problem. I uninstalled and made sure the registry was cleaned out of all Sonar stuff. I then reinstalled and problem is gone.

thanks to those who chimed in. It is appreciated.
