The documentation for the Waldorf Attack plugin contains a very useful section about drum sound programming with substractive synths. Most of it can be applied to any VA:
http://www.waldorfmusic.de/assets/files/products/attack/docs/attackdrumsounds.pdf
There are other tutorials out there, for example, this one is focused on the Nord Modular series, but the theory can also be applied on the MS2000/uKorg:
http://www.cim.mcgill.ca/~clark/nordmodularbook/nm_percussion.html
Now, with the MS2000 step sequencers, you can do some cool drum loops, but I'm not sure the uKorg also has sequencers.
Another thing that is fun, is running a drum machine through the MS2K/uKorg filters and effects.
Don't forget you can layer two timbres for extra thickness. |
