If you look closely at the 61 key variant it looks a lot like the MO6 body just in black.

As I said back at the top of the thread (when we were on topic LOL) ... Korg are likely to announce their own new controllers this NAMM, which I suspect will be rather better than these. Not long 'til we find out.

The Mac Expo is on around the same time ... look forward to checking out the new rumoured sub-notebook ... my old Powerbook G4 is looking a little old (still works though, typing on it right now) ... it doesn't help that I've dropped it twice, but fortunately the aluminium casing meant it survived, albeit with a few dents.

Exciting times ...

Arrow There is a VST hackware (I think Neko related = Mimick?) that can clone your favorite synth; so this is already do-able.

So does the model number; the letters look exactly like the ones on the DX7. And the KX88, TX series, and just about every other product from back then. I'm wondering if the xfactorvst thing may be a virtual fm synth?

I know there are several other vsti's that can load DX7 patches, but it would be nice if there was a softsynth that had the features of the FS1R; the RCM, quasi-definable algorithms, and multiple feedback loops of the SY77/SY99/TG77 would also be a nice addition. It would also be great to be able to type in data from data sheets (remember those?) directly. AFAIK, the current crop of software fm synths doesn't use the same range of parameters as the original DX series, so you have to have the patch already in DX format to import it.

At any rate, I've rambled on enough on Korg's forum about other company's products. I've got plenty of hardware, but more softsynths are always welcome. Wonder what Korg's showing next week at NAMM?

Smile hehe, good one... Although, desktop Penryn CPU's are still unavailable (Intel is respinning them), so, mobile version would be a better bet Smile Still, an awful lot of additional CPU power Smile

In that case, how about the Korg Nucleus™? Very Happy

...You know, it does standard virtual analogue, wavetabling and vector synthesis, C64 SID doo-dah wotsits, blips and farts galore, with 900 voice polyphony..

No really! Very Happy

Actually, still can't believe how that ended up on GearJunkie's front page last year!! Laughing http://i11.tinypic.com/7yr1ll3.png ~ (A copy of the "article" can be seen here. I had to take a copy of it just for laughs.). I only posted the Nuke here on the KF, but it spawned everywhere.
