|
|
Is there going to be a problem if I were to go from a standard 8pin out from the Zero4 to a 4pin in on my notebook?
It is a newer laptop, 2.0GHz core2 duo w/ 1gb (soon to be 4GB) of ram.
Specs available HERE.
I suspect it will not be a problem, however I wanted to make sure before I get the mixer because if I have to purchase a firewire card I would like to do it ahead of time.
If this does work, are there going to be any limitations and/or problems with using the 4 pin rather than using a full blown 8pin?
Thanks in advance,
Justin |

It is actually a 6 to 4 pin not 8 to 4 pin...
And no it should not be a problem. |

No problem...
I had a hard time finding a 6 to 6 firewire cable when I bought my Zero 4,
My Mac is 6 and my zero is 6.
Macs and PC (PC towers) usually all run 6.
Many if not all laptops run 4.
Many stores carry 6 to 4 and 4 to 4, but not many carry 6 to 6, because most people only need firewire for cameras and camcorders that are always 4.
(I have all three now, 6 to 6, 6 to 4, and 4 to 4....LOL) |
