Hey guys, I'm new around here and just recently purchased an EMX-1. All was going well until I had difficulty changing the pattern, or just using the data knob at all, because the Level knob in Part common keeps changing on its own. Whenever I press lightly on the knob it stops and functions correctly, but whenever I let up it goes nuts again... Kinda like theres a soldering problem.
I bought this particular unit from a clueless friend of mine (he used it once and said it was too complicated for him... moron. ), It came with the manual, quickstart guide, EMX-1 and the power supply. I have only had it for about a week, and it just recently started doing this. Im not too sure about its warranty status... Any suggestions would be cool.

sorry to hear bout your problem mate . Its probably that the little metal brushes inside your potentiometer are'nt touching their connections correctly , its probably going to need replaced . If u want ur mx to function properly then ur gonna have to send it in to Korg .
whether its under warranty or not will determine what its gonna cost to fix though pal . nevermind though , its not game over !! |

khehe you are mistaken my friend. The data knob is not a potentiometer. It is a rotary encoder . But yes send it to korg. |

Well I didn't mean the data knob was bad, that thing is built like a tank, its just the Level knob in Part Common.. It keeps changing value like jumping from 63 to 98 and randomly switching numbers, so im not able to switch the pattern, unless I turn the level knob to 000, then it works. I Called a service dealer nearby, and was told it could be covered under warranty, I'm curious to as if they actually service the unit there or send it to korg...?
My EG Int knob just started doing it!!!
