Anyone seen a problem where the backlight comes on with no words in the display, and I get no sound at all? The drive will spin, the LED lights will light when I press the buttons, but everything else seems dead. I got the service manual, but it says I need to run a diagnostic test and I have no idea how to do that. I have a feeling it just isn't booting but I can figure out how to get it to load. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you changed the internal battery in your O1/WFD?The O1 is getting old and the internal battery could be flat, hence no sounds.

My Wavestation behaved in a similar way last year so I changed the battery and she is up and running again.

The battery is a CR2032 Lithium cell battery, very common and easy to buy. It's not soldered so you can install it yourself.

I changed the battery in my 01/Wfd last week (CR2032). But I had been getting "Battery Low" warnings on boot for a few days prior to that. It's very easy to do (20 self-tapping screws on the underside). But don't handle these batteries with your bare hands – I used rubber surgical gloves. Appropriate.

Kind regards.

Thanks for the reply Dave and Synthia, unfortunately after changing the battery (a couple time even), it still is dead (same status).
Thanks though...

Piano_ex:
My keyboard is still in the same condition; I probably will not repair it since I have had it for more than 10 years now and my use of it hasn't been that high. If I can't get it repaired myself, I will probably part it out.
Thanks for the reply...let me know if you find out what is wrong with yours though.
